Full payment is expected at the time of enrollment. No cash refunds are given unless the program is canceled by SD Youth Camp. If the program is canceled by the SD Youth Camp, you will be given the choice of a full credit or a cash refund. If you request to cancel your class enrollment two or more days prior to the first class, you will receive a full credit minus a $15 processing fee or you may choose to transfer to another session if available. Requests made less than two days prior to the start date are not eligible for a refund or credit, except in the case of personal emergencies. No credits or pro-rated credits will be issued for missed days of camp or class due to illness, partial attendance, behavior issues, or any other reason.
Age: Camper must turn the age indicated by the camp within 10 days of the camp date.
Summer Camps: Drop-off is at the Recreation Field during normal camp hours; 9:00a.m. – 9:30a.m. Extended Care drop-off occurs at 7:30a.m. – 9:00a.m. Children can be picked up at the Recreation Field from 4:00p.m. – 5:30p.m. Parents may authorize children age 12 or older to sign himself/herself in & out of camp. The camper will only be permitted to sign-out at the official end of the camp day unless the parent has explicitly noted otherwise. Please understand that when a camper is given authority to sign himself/herself out, they are no longer in the care of SD Youth Camp staff. Registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage anyone interested in camp to register as soon as possible.
During summer sessions, there is a $10 charge per camper, per day, which includes both morning and afternoon Extended Care. You may drop campers off as early as 7:30a.m. & pick up as late as 5:30p.m.
LATE PICK-UP POLICY
Children not picked up at the end of the camp day will be supervised by our staff. A fee of $1 per minute will be charged when camp closes. For example: A full day of camp ends at 5:30 pm, and if a child is picked up at 5:35 pm, there will be no charge. Every attempt will be made to contact parents or a listed authorized pick-up. If by 6:30pm all contacts are not reachable, and the child has not been picked up, Child Protective Services will be contacted. A late fee will be assessed starting at 5:35 pm according to our clock.
How Large Are the Camp Groups? What is the Staff to Camper Ratio?
Camp groups generally range from 10-32 campers per group. The staff to camper ratio ranges from 1:8 to 1:12 (depending upon the ages within the camp group).
What Should NOT Be Brought to Camp?
Please make sure that your camper leaves all electronic items (including cell phones), jewelry, toys, card games, and pets at home.
What Should My Child Bring to Camp?
Campers are required to wear socks and closed-toe shoes daily. Campers should wear season-appropriate clothes in which they are ready to play hard and get dirty! For girls, we do not recommend skirts or dresses. If your child’s camp is scheduled to swim, a swimsuit, towel, sandals are allowed on the way to the pool only. Parents should apply sunscreen before campers arrive at camp in the morning, as staff will no longer be able to apply sunscreen to campers upon request.
LUNCHES AND SNACKS
Campers should eat a nutritious breakfast before being dropped off for camp and bring a healthy non-perishable lunch each day. Sorry, but we do not provide meals or snacks for campers. Please note, we do not have the capacity to heat or refrigerate lunch items. (healthy eating is encouraged)
All transportation will be provided in vans or busses. All vehicles are inspected on a daily basis, and periodically checked by a licensed mechanic, as well as the California Highway Patrol. Our drivers have Class B driver’s licenses and/or School Bus Certificates.
Our camps are designed to operate outside for the majority of each day. In the event of extreme weather, we will do what is best to keep campers safe, by utilizing indoor and/or shaded areas of our facility. This may affect their regularly scheduled activities.
